Everything began with a buzzing sound that gradually intensified until I had to put in earplugs. I put on my Mindfold (a special blindfold) and began looking inward. Through the blindfold, I noticed incredibly detailed textures; I could clearly see the foam and plastic in front of my eyes. My senses became heightened, and I saw a tiny dot of white light coming through the blindfold. As I focused on it, it transformed into a purple spiral.
At that moment, I fully entered the experience and heard a voice say:
“If you want to see, you’ll have to look with the eyes of the soul.”
Immediately afterward, I began to perceive what felt like space-time itself.
Then Iboga asked me how I wanted to approach the journey:
“We can work on and repair the body, or we can leave it behind and turn you into a being of light. Your choice.”
“Let’s work,” I replied.
We began by visiting different parts of my body, starting with my heart. When we arrived, I saw everything I had been carrying in the form of long, heavy chains attached to anchors hanging below. The chains were connected to my heart and seemed to be hurting it under their weight. Above them were four multicolored kites that appeared completely weightless.
Iboga then asked me what I wanted to do with my heart. I asked for a “factory reset” so it could function more freely and lightly. Within seconds, my heart was reset, and I felt an enormous weight leave me.
Once the “new heart” was installed, I asked that we move on to the next part of the body: the head. There, I saw what looked like horizontal timelines containing all of my memories and life experiences. They were countless straight lines layered on top of one another. As I moved closer, I realized they were made up of scenes from my own life.
Together, Iboga and I began revisiting memories that I felt had been forgotten or lost. One was from my childhood, when my brothers would tease me by saying I was adopted and that I was the little Black boy from a painting we had. I saw how deeply that memory had marked me and was able to release the pain attached to it. We then visited more memories that had left a mark on me and released all the damage they had caused, one by one.
Next, I asked to see my mind, so we entered a breathtaking space. I realized there was a beautiful Sun at the center, a smaller star below, and a circling library of many colored books floating in space—always against a cosmic background. Seeing that this amazing scene was inside me, I recognized that my cannabis abuse was an attempt to evade my natural state of being because I was in pain and distress. I decided to stop depending on the plant and released myself from the addiction through compassion and awe for my own mind in its natural state.
Then I asked Iboga, “What am I going to do now that I won’t smoke weed?”
It replied, “You should try surfing—maybe drink a coconut!”
I laughed and enjoyed that moment so much.
I had been struggling with bruxism for some time (the medical term for the unconscious grinding, clenching, or gnashing of teeth, mainly while asleep), which made my head hurt every morning. I wanted to find the origin of that condition and heal it. Iboga showed me a skinny, pale, ghoulish female figure looking straight at me. She opened her mouth until her jaw broke and filled with blood, and a snake came out of her mouth, slowly approaching me. The message was clear: all the violence and death I was experiencing through violent video games was the source of my condition.
Iboga said to me, “Be careful with what you feed your mind; your mental diet is important.”
After that, I asked what my purpose in this life was, and a message popped up in front of me: “Helping is creating, and creating is helping.” It felt amazing. While the message wasn’t entirely explicit, it felt like the direction I needed to take.
I then asked what my next mission in life should be, and Iboga replied, “To go skiing with your children.” (I don’t have children yet, but I would love to have them—it’s part of my plan.)
That essentially summed up my healing journey with the Iboga experience. I felt ready for whatever comes next, along with a profound sense of physical release. Afterwards, I decided to travel with Iboga to see mountains full of trees and beautiful waterfalls. I could edit the landscapes with my mind—adding rivers, animals, snow, and so forth—as my mind wandered to different places. I heard there was a large thunderstorm outside the villa, so I projected my mind inside the storm. I could see the waves crashing against the rocks at the beach from an aerial perspective, similar to a drone’s view. It was incredible.
In conclusion, I would say that for me, the Iboga spirit is an extradimensional, highly intelligent being. Its messages are not open to interpretation like those of Ayahuasca or magic mushrooms might be, but rather very objective and efficient. The experience was deeply mentally oriented. I loved it and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a healing journey and a lighter way of living. I hope sharing my experience helps others on their own journeys, and I wish you all the best.
